What’s this role about?

 

As the Market Strategy and Regulatory Manager at GridBeyond, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our market strategy, focusing on response and reserve, ancillary services, local network flexibility as well as capacity market activities in the UK. You will be responsible for navigating complex regulatory landscapes, identifying market opportunities, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

 

What will I be doing?

 

Responsibilities

 

Market Strategy Development:

  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats related to Balancing Market, Wholesale Market, capacity markets and other flexibility services in Japan.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective market strategies aligned with GridBeyond’s business objectives.
  • Monitor competitor activities and industry developments to stay ahead of market changes.

 

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes, guidelines, and standards affecting the energy industry, with a focus on response and reserve ancillary services and capacity markets.
  • Ensure that market regulatory risks are identified, and managed in customer contracts in line with company risk appetite.
  • Maintain a regulatory compliance framework to ensure GridBeyond’s adherence to all relevant regulations, and communicate this to internal operations and sales teams.

 

Market Participation:

  • Manage the company’s registration and participation in Balancing, Wholesale and capacity Markets as an Aggregation Co-ordinator.
  • Manage the company’s participation in capacity market auctions, ensuring accurate and timely submission of bids and compliance with all requirements.

 

Project Management

  • Project management of GridBeyond’s early customers, including site auditing, co-ordination with customers on market submissions, testing and support to customers troubleshooting.
  • Interface with company’s product team to support understanding of technical requirements.

 

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders, including OCCTO, METI, TDGC, JEPX, TSOs and other regulatory bodies, government agencies, and industry associations.
  • Represent GridBeyond in industry forums, conferences, and working groups to enhance the company’s visibility and influence.
  • Engage with strategic customers and partners in support of business development.

 

What do I need to be a good technical fit for this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in electricity market in Japan.
  • Experience and understanding of the Japanese electricity market in general.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Japanese energy regulatory landscape and capacity market mechanisms.
  • Strong understanding of demand response and energy management technologies.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel and support commercial engagement with clients and strategic partners.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong mathematical skills and use of Excel (python would be a bonus for forecasting future pricing).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects independently.

  • Take the role of a Senior developer in the Controls and Energy Services team to develop products that serve business opportunities in current and new markets, while evolving and iterating on existing solutions
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, Product, and project manager to collect and document technical requirements and identify the key needs, suggesting the best solutions to meet these.
  • Implementing Energy services business logic and Transmission System Operator (TSO) integrations, ensuring application designs support the overall technological strategy of the business and platform evolution
  • Document software and work with stakeholders in the handover and delivery of applications.
  • Working with the Team lead to identify opportunities to improve the existing architecture, recommending the incorporation of new technologies and approaches where appropriate team.

  • 5+ Years working as a Senior Developer.
  • Demonstrable success in designing and developing high availability, high performance, scalable applications.
  • Extensive experience with object orientated programming in C#, the .Net stack, Entity Framework and API Services
  • Strong experience with databases such as MS SQL
  • Experience with Open ADR protocol
  • Fluent in Japanese and English; ability to read technical specification documents in both languages

Role

 

  • The successful candidate for this role will be tasked with driving GridBeyond’s growth within solar, storage and EV markets in Australia. A real hunter mentality is required in order to generate, source and close leads across the solar, storage and EV space.
  • The roles primary focus will be to secure new business within key C&I sectors, monetizing flexibility through ancillary services, and wholesale trading, as well as grow and develop the EV proposition to fleet based customers (i.e. bus, postal, delivery fleets) and indirect target groups (i.e. EV software management systems)
  • Work closely with the business development team to strategize and effectively target new customers for each of GridBeyond’s key growth deliverables: Ancillary Services, Funded Solar / Battery, Multi Sites, Risk Management & Net Zero
  • This will be achieved through sector specific targeting and strategic account targeting, utilising account plans with top 10’s continuously worked and recycled, supported by marketing and business development teams.
  • Would be advantageous to have experience of selling EV solutions to large fleet operators, bus companies, or sale of funded solar & storage solutions via PPA.
  • Would be advantageous to have experience of selling Solar PV and Storage into the large commercial estate, large industrial user sectors.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Directly developing, managing and taking ownership for the sales pipeline
  • Market engagement, organizing sales meetings with prospects and clients, key stakeholders, and other market participants to influence and identify opportunities to win Utility scale battery contracts to GridBeyond.
  • Managing partners, and key stakeholders to support growth within specific sectors or regions
  • Working with other key stakeholders within the GridBeyond business to support the delivery of any successful projects ensuring a smooth transition from sales, through deployment and onto account management.
  • The successful candidate will require a ‘hunter’ mentality to drive forward the new business pipeline to successfully sell the GridBeyond software and hardware optimisation solution
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key decision makers and manage relationships with senior stakeholders using recognisable engagement mapping techniques such as Miller Heiman or equivalent.
  • Supporting and progressing the development of market solutions in collaboration with key internal stakeholders
  • Building and developing strategic analysis of the target market and sectors and delivering propositions based on this analysis.

Role

 

The Accounts Payable Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring that GridBeyond pays its suppliers and disburses revenue to customers in accordance with its contractual requirements. This is a diverse role and requires frequent interaction with both internal stakeholders (sales, account managers, the finance team etc.) and external stakeholders (both customers and suppliers).

 

The role is broad and the ideal candidate will be adaptable and capable of responding to the ever-changing needs of a business growing across geographies.

 

Summary of duties

 

  • Collation and review of invoices for payment (gathering the approvals from the business)
  • Issuing revenue and balance statements to customers
  • Setting up payments to suppliers and customers for review and approval
  • Liaising with supplier finance functions to obtain information and clarify queries which arise
  • Monitoring customer and supplier listings to identify amounts which are overdue
  • Processing invoices and posting transactions on the accounting system
  • Supporting other processes (e.g. payroll) to the extent required
  • Making suggestions as to how processes can be improved from a payment perspective
  • Providing payment information to support the cash flow forecast process; and
  • Other ad-hoc duties as the need arises.

GridBeyond are in the process of entering the Japanese Energy market. This role is required to support with the initial phases of market entry consisting of working with the Product, Development and Regulation Teams in GridBeyond to help us firstly understand the Japanese Energy markets and helping to design, build and test the business processes and applications required to transact. The enduring responsibility of this role is with the Market Optimization Team and the purpose is to help GridBeyond provide its customers with a route to market to monetise flexibility in all available energy markets and ancillary services. The role involves a close working relationship with our clients and our market optimisation team to deliver execution of trading strategies initially in Japan, but eventually across all of our jurisdictions, while ensuring all customer sites are responding to grid services. Successful candidates will also be involved in the ongoing development of solutions, tools and reports whilst providing ongoing analysis of markets.

 

What will I be doing?

 

  • Work with and provide support to software engineering teams and project managers in defining the business logic associated with different ancillary service programs in the Japanese energy market (e.g. RR-FIT FCR, FRR, …)
  • Provide guidance on the interpretation of specific market rules either from prior knowledge or informed research where needed.
  • Identifying and sourcing relevant published documentation relating to ancillary service programs in the Japanese market and identification of key parts of the documents to be translated to English.
  • Act as a liaison with TSO contacts where necessary.
  • Act as a liaison with local (Japanese) consultants where necessary
  • Optimise our portfolio in ancillary services (frequency, reserve) and energy markets. Analyse market dynamics, defining short term trading strategies. Trade execution and both, financial and physical management of our asset’s positions.
  • Support and drive GridBeyond’s entry into new ancillary services and power markets. Understand market structure, analyse potential opportunities and definition and execution of trading strategies.

Role

 

We are seeking an Integration Engineer to join our IT Team. The candidate will work in a team environment on the development of a new commercialization platform and the integration of existing systems.

 

The role will involve the design and implementation of solutions to integrate existing systems and develop a 360 view of the customer, automate the pricing and sales processes, and enhance billing systems.

 

The ideal candidate will be a team player with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills and must be a good communicator. He/she will take a structured approach to project delivery and work to clear timelines with the provision of appropriate levels of documentation.

 

Ideally, the candidate will have experience in digital transformation including digitization of the customer experience.

 

What are we looking for

 

We are looking for an experienced and energetic system analyst to join the GridBeyond IT team. In this role, you will translate business needs into well-documented requirements for IT systems and business process changes. You will work on projects to modify, enhance or adapt existing systems and integrate new features or improvements, all to improve business efficiency and productivity.

  • The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and communication skills along with technical acumen. The ability to understand and document complex applications is essential along with the skills needed to evaluate and present options for implementing new capabilities.
  • You must be able to effectively communicate complex concepts with suppliers, co-workers and management, both verbally and in writing. You must have experience in managing supplier accountability and performance as well as integrating systems which may involve multiple systems and suppliers. You must balance a self-motivated, independent work ethic with the desire to train and assist others. Organization, prioritization, attention to detail, and working under pressure are all crucial.
  • The role requires a good understanding of IT and business change management processes.
  • The ideal candidate will be working on projects deployed to Front office solutions like Customer portals, Digital transformation, Web sites and social media marketing. The role requires the ability to collaborate with business users and external vendors to design and roll out a modern digital customer experience.

 

 

Required Experience and Skills

  • Broad understanding of multiple technologies and business domains
  • Experience in Risk, Compliance, and Cybersecurity
  • Proven ability to oversee implementation of a new system including data migration.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in examining and evaluating current systems, documenting interfaces between new and legacy systems, understanding strategic objectives and developing solutions to achieve them.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate with Product Managers and various business partners and to understand and capture their needs.
  • Ability to lead challenging technical discussions and workshops and to identify and present options for potential solutions using the latest technologies. Produce highly specified project briefs for different options.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver Low code / no-code solutions to automate manual solutions or provide an integration layer between legacy systems.
  • Work closely with colleagues, developers, external vendors, testers and a variety of end-users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
  • Develop comprehensive documentation and provide training and user manuals to users of a new system Stay up-to-date with current technologies and technical developments
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum practices

What’s this role about?

A Financial Accountant is responsible for running the accounting and financial activities of an organisation. They analyse the economic stability of the company and provide financial information to other departments, enabling these departments to make budgeting and investment decisions. A Financial Accountant reports on costs, productivity, margins and company expenditures.

This Financial Accountant will be responsible for tasks such as financial reporting, forecasting, management of credit control as well as having a hands-on approach to assisting the team.

 

What will I be doing?

 

  • Preparing the monthly profit and loss, and balance sheet reports
  • Tax reporting and inventory processing
  • Collecting and analysing data, which is then used in the preparation of weekly and monthly estimates
  • Advising on estimates for project funding
  • Creating KPI reports
  • Preparing weekly cash flow statements, and controlling expenditure and cash flow
  • Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts
  • Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data
  • Conducting internal audits such as wage reviews
  • Examining financial records to check for accuracy
  • Managing and training staff when necessary

 

Qualifications and Skills

 

  • Part Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA) is essential and ideally with some post qualification experience

  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential to perform this role
  • Experience with data base accounting and management reporting systems together with working experience in the Financial Services sector would be an advantage

What’s this role about?

Our projects are typically Demand Side Response (DSR) projects. DSR is a strategy employed in the energy sector where consumers adjust their electricity usage in response to signals from the grid operator or energy market. Instead of only adjusting supply to meet demand fluctuations, DSR involves modifying demand patterns to balance the grid more efficiently, reduce costs, and enhance reliability.

A project manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading teams to successfully complete projects on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards. They allocate resources, manage risks, communicate with stakeholders, monitor progress, and adapt to changes throughout the project lifecycle. Their role is crucial in ensuring project success through effective coordination, leadership, and problem-solving. Their responsibilities typically include:

  1. Project Planning, Monitoring and Reporting:
  2. Communication between all stakeholders concerned in the project.
  3. Lead coordinator in the commissioning element of the project
  4. Resource Management of customer/contractors & all stakeholders
  5. Engage and lead new product deployments in terms of documentation & technical understanding.
  6. Quality Management: Help develop and maintain quality processes to ensure high standard of project delivery.

 

What will I be doing?

Major Accountabilities:

  • Develop understanding of customer sites, assets, processes and the inherent flexibility of demand use there in.
  • Planning, communicating and project managing plans to fully onboard new and existing customers that are ready to go live in service or with additional products.
  • Engaging with stakeholders internally and externally (customers / Internal auditor / third parties like Mad Dash etc) to manage and plan resources and deliver projects to target timelines.
  • Creating a partnership approach with all stakeholders in the process of implementation.
  • Ensure all regs requirements are captured and passed on to regs team.
  • Ensure all financial details are captured and passed on to the finance team.
  • Responsible for all re-onboarding sites for services that require this – example ERS.
  • Create, document and implement robust processes for all types of US onboarding.
  • Carry out testing of customers to meet grid requirements and report as required internally and externally to get customer live in service.
  • Reporting on plan’s and progress professionally in summary fashion to management.
  • Continue to evolve practices and procedures to continually improve as additional new products/services are rolled out to customers.
  • Carrying out energy analysis on customer data to understand site energy usage issues and additional potential client opportunities for potentially all clients.
  • Provide feedback to the development team on tools and services to assist with onboarding new sites to our Virtual Power Plant.
  • Other activities and new service offerings that may arise as the role develops.
  • Deliver projects in the timeframe allocated and within scope and budget.
  • Be able to assist develop scope & success criteria of new products.
  • Communicate project status, issues, and risks to relevant stakeholders
  • Identify and assess potential risks to project delivery.
  • Define and monitor project quality standards.
  • Ensure that the project adheres to relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.

 

What do I need to be a good technical fit for this role?

 

  • Degree in a technical field, electrical eng, automation eng, energy engineering or similar desirable not essential
  • 1-3 years post grad working experience including some Project Management Experience in the Demand side Response Industry
  • Background or working knowledge experience of industrial systems (SCADA, BMS, PLC) would be beneficial
  • IT skills including networking, database queries, troubleshooting would be of benefit
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Produce presentations and reports to a professional standard
  • Willingness to take the lead and engage with issues that arise
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative without immediate hands on support
  • Organized, energetic and self-motivated
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of software tools
  • Highly numerate, good attention to detail
  • Project management certification (Prince 2, Scrum or otherwise) not essential.
  • On-Site experience beneficial
  • Be adaptable to changes and uncertainties in the project.
